Anyone have any experience with setting up for cutting marine ply, outdoor mdf or engineered sheeting of some sort that works ok with a waterjet? I have a project that I'd like to make out of 4x4ft plywood or sheet material that would be inexpensive. The waterjet I use I've only cut metal and plexi sheeting on, so wood or woodlike products are new to me. I've cut plexi on it, but I'm not sure that would be cost effective for what I have in mind. I need to cut 8 4x4ft sheets to get all the parts. Ideas? Last edited by BHawthorne; 01-09-2008 at 07:14 PM. Reason: Added picture |

| My experience has been at 40kpsi the laminations capilaried and blew them apart. Same thing with phenolics. I didn't run the machine, but if I were to try it again, maybe keeping the material above the water may help it cut through rather than building up pressure inside the sheet. Run a small trial and you will know for sure. DC
