I've seen a lot of people use the pink rigid insulation. So I gave it a try. Wow, it cuts like a hot knife through butter. My problem is I cooked my shop-vac that has is attached to a Dust Deputy cyclone. I guess the foam is too light to fall into the bucket under the cyclone. All the foam ended up in the shop-vac and I did not realize it until it was full and plugged up. My question is when you cut pink insulation foam, what method are you using to pickup the dust? That foam will fill up a shop-vac in a hurry. Thanks |

| would you be willing to try blowing instead of vacuum? from my experience with foam, I think having "plastic sheets" acting as partitions to separate your working site and then sweeping it all up is a better idea than vacuuming... I tried vacuuming it all and pretty soon the vacuum has buildup within and running hot... thus after several different methods, we decided to "plastic sheet" partition the work area and then sweep it all... my workplace now uses a catcher within a built drain and water to clean up the area... after all, the foam floats on water =) so building a net catcher really do help and water really cleans up the place fast... i mean the workfloor... the blowing is only to cool off your cut bit & also to dust away the foam "sand" away from the work bed... just some thoughts |
