cutting PVC, requesting Help!!!!

Greetings, I am trying to cut a 8 inch PVC couple to different lengths to use as a case for a permanent magnet alternator. I am now using a table saw to make the cuts, but the results are not very professional looking. If anyone can recommend a better technique, jig, or method that will produce a better looking result please let me know.

Cutting on a table saw is probably your best bet without a large lathe. A disk grinder is what I use to square up the ends and then debur with a razor blade or better yet a deburing tool.

cutting large diameter pipe

Greetings, I found a solution for cutting large diameter pipe. I can adjust it for 6 to greater than 8 inch. It will cut PVC and metal. The grinder is fed into the pipe using the small turn buckle. Then the unit is rolled around the pipe to make the cut.

redesigned large diameter PVC cutter

Hi, I completed rebuild of large diameter plastic pipe cutter. The configuration is modeled after a design seen on the web, just like the earlier version. The cutter is stationary and the pipe spins. The stationary cutter configuration allows for a AC powered cut off tool to be used. I am able to mount the pipe and then slide the cutter to the measured cut off position. The new configuration will also help eliminate waste as long as I measure twice and cut once. Enjoy the day.
