I have a rather small part I am trying to mill, and my co-worker has a cnc router. However, He's never machined copper, for most of the material removal it will be a 1/2inch or bigger end mill, however to mill out some 98 pins on less than 1"x1" for the design, they have to be milled by a .030 end mill. I don't have much money being a student and can't afford multiple end mills to find a cutting speed that works. the cuts will at most 2.75mm deep, and I have found end mills that can cut .090 (Which is taller than the pins). My question is, how would I find the feed/min to make the cut (IE a formula?) and also I know copper is a rather big pain to mill especially on a small scale, which brings me to my next question. Does anyone know of a place that sells copper cutting mills? |
