Question HX40B - what are the best settings

I recently purchased a HX40B to cut felt for my business and I was wondering if anyone else has had luck with cutting felt without burning the edges. If so can anyone give me advice on the correct power/speed etc. or even felt type. 100% acyrlic, wool blend etc to use.

Thanks for any help or advice possible.

    Shazz,

I've cut 1/8" cheap felt (synthetic blend) and the results were excellent.

I suggest using 2-passes of 2W @ 2cm/s, the majority of cutting is done with the first pass and the 2-pass cleans up the remaining fibers.

If you have 1/4" you could try increasing the power but at some point you'll need to use additional passes rather than power or you'll get scorching.

    Zax.

It depends greatly on the rubber, but in my experience it is best to use a higher power and speed combination.

I would suggest to start around 50% power @ 10-12cm/s. Air assist will really help too, or an improved exhaust fan.

    Zax.
