    Question LaserPro Spirit Drivers (LPT)

I am having difficulty sending files to our LaserPro Spirit from my Windows XP PC. My PC crashed so I had to reinstall everything. I installed the driver software, from the original CD, and I can select the cutter from Adobe Illustrator but when I click on print nothing happens. There is nothing in the print queue and windows does not report any errors. Am I forgetting something obvious.

I would really appreciate some help on this as its driving me mad!!

    Hi,
First of all why you do not ask your supplier ?

Please note that you must install driver first (laser schould be NOT CONNECTED), and only when driver is installed, you can connect laser, swith on and plug-and-play will find equipment.

I hope you have checked ports and everything is OK? As I understood right, you are working via LPT? If YES, why you don't use USB?

    Smile Laser Pro Spirit

Thank you very much for your help.

We are trying to contact our supplier at the moment.

I've tried both LPT & USB and on more than one PC, but no joy. The unusual thing is that the Spirit drivers appear to be installed correctly. There are no errors during the installation and its listed in the printers folder with the correct port. When we try and send a file its appears to be working, i.e. no windows errors, but nothing happens on the Spirit.

Is there something wrong with the configuration of the printer? Is there something we need to change? Is there a utility program that would allow us to test the communication between the Spirit and PC?

I would appreciate any advise you could offer

Hi tonyryan1968 did you solve your problem, since i have the same problem with my machine. It was working fine but now im not able to send anything to the machine, and sometimes i get an error message saying that my PRINTER SPOOL SERVICE is not active. I go manually activate it, i reinstall all the driver but still nothing. I have contacted my supplier as well and i am awaiting an answer.

    Hi, Arben,
Generally installation of laser consist from few steps
    1) Disconnect laser from PC. Insert original CD into PC and install USB driver.
    2) Connect laser and PC with cable, switch on laser and when PC will detect USB device follow instructions to install this USB device
    3) Go to CONTROL PANEL and start procedure ADD NEW PRINTER. When PC will ask drivers - show path to driver section on GCC CD. Follow PC instructions.
    4) And finally after all process check USB port settings (schould be USBGCC port created)

Hi Litografa, Thanks for your quick reply.
I have done this procedure a couple times now since i'm an experienced IT for more than 7 years now. i have reinstalled my whole system with a new copy of Windows (before i had XP, now i installed windows7) and i get the same error message, and the laser doesn't receive anything. 2 days ago my laser worked just fine i engraved with it a couple things, than the next day i just got that message. Could it be that something is wrong with the laser engraver itself ?

IMHO problem is in driver, try Vista driver from our site http://www.litografa.lt/index.php?aid=150 but I am not sure that it will work. Better return to XP

    Thanks Litografa.
I will give it a try with the new drivers. I am able to engrave now only with 125DPI and 250 which is TOO low for the things i do. i usually engraved (until 2 days ago) with 500 or 600 DPI, which is needed in order to keep my current work quality. I Hope that the new drivers will help me doing so. BTW i had this same problem on my XP OS, and i thought that my OS was corrupted or something, and since i got a new Licensed copy of Windows 7 i thought i would give it a try.

one more question, do you have any tutorial or something how do i put the new Firmware on my laser engraver?
