Laser cutting craft foam, have you done it?

I do not have a laser cutter. But I was wondering if anyone has used their cutter to cut craft foam? This stuff... Craft Foam

Is it easy and fast to cut, a pain in the behind? Thanks in advance for any information!

Rick,

EVA foam (Foamies) cuts quickly and easily, but as with other thermoplastics it will melt so shapes may not retain sharp corners or small detail.

It is not as bad as expanded foams though and you can get very acceptable results.

Depending on the application I either de-focus slightly (above the material) or use 2-passes at lower power to produce better results.

Makes sense. Very good information. I think you have answered my questions. It sounds like it would work fine for my needs. Now I need to get my patterns together and find someone who can do some test cutting
