i got a 3040 from laserscript in the uk , i have cut everything from card, perspex, balsa, plywood , depron foam and mars bars into slices... on it and it works realy well

I had never used a laser before and was amazed that i could actualy write on card as well as cut it out , i thought it would just burn with it being cardboard

Hello, I have just been looking at buying the 3040 from laserscript, just wondering if anyone has anymore revies on them & how the extraction works etc. I want to mainly use it for cutting acrylic. Does it cut thin metals too ??? Can you really cut mars bars- how do they taste after ??

It wont cut thin metals, you need a different type of laser, but it will take paint off painted metals to etch a picture onto them,

the marsbars did taste a bit toasted, but not burnt, just different, you can also toast writing and pictures onto slices of bread....

The extractor on it is a white box with a fan inside, it goes on one end of the cutter case, it sucks the air from inside and ducts it into a piece of ducting that extends to about 3 meters or so, the tube is the type you can get from b+q if you need longer

    Thumbs up laser cutter

i finally got my laser thanks to all the input from everyone.
i ordered it from hpc lasers in UK on monday and received it 2 days later i was amazed at how quick they sent it i would highly recommend this company to everyone who needs a laser quickly.
i havent got round to using it yet as i am still reading through the instructions and software. i will more than likely be asking lots of questions to all you laser pros as i havent got a clue what i am doing LOL.....

    thanks again guys
    hugs

    Hi Starloc,
Hope you don't mind asking a few questions regarding LS3040. I purchased a LS3040 from HPC and I got the machine today. I was about to fit the Fan, may I know how did you fit the fan and do you have a picture of the fan fitted on to the machine?

    Kind Regards

    Freddy

I cheated,i didnt assemble it, i got the guy from laserscript to bring it over to me, so he set it up for me,
theres a big white plastic fan that slots into a slot on the outside of the machine on the left end, it doesnt look like it fits, but it does, i have no photos here, but i can get some this week if you still need one.
