    portable lasers?

I am doing some research for a customer, who wants me to be able to engrave artwork into his mold cavities while still in the mold machine. He tells me that there is a portable laser that will do it, but I have been unable to find any such thing on my own. Everything that I find that is called "portable" could be wheeled out to the molding machine, but then the part to be lasered would still have to be removed form the mold and located in the laser machine.
The customer wants the artwork done without removing the mold tool from the base to save downtime. Is this possible? My own research so far says "no" but I dont know much at all about laser equipment.
    Any help is greatly apppreciated!

Why would he need the molded work to remain in the press (and in the mold, for that matter)? Are you sure it's not a case of the client knowing just enough about a subject to be dangerous?

The only way I know of would be to have a laser large enough to contain the molding machine.
