Problem with cutting on GCC Spirit

We have a new Spirit w40. We have no problems engraving our stamps, but we cant get it to cut. We have set up PEN setting engraving=black, cutting=red.

The red cutting lines is hairline.

When it is finished engraving it moves along to the cutting and follows the cutting path with no problem. However it does this at engraving speed resulting in an almost invisible cutting line.

If we alter PEN setting on black to cutting speed and cutting power it will cut - so it is plenty of power to do the job if we could just figure out the settings.

NB! We also have a GCC Venus. If we use the same document and PEN settings on this machine it will do the entire job flawlessly.

Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Just guessing, but check your red hairline color - it should be RGB 255-0-0. Other color settings might cause problems on GCC driver...

Check colour management is off in Corel and that red is actually red and not rgb or some other value , check that colour mapping is correct in the driver.
If the "red" line results in travel at engraving speed and you have set red in the pen assignments in the driver to a much slower speed , it means the driver is seeing it as some other colour and is defaulting to the faster speed.
If none of that works , try reflashing the firmware and deleting the driver and reinstalling it.

    Thank you Rodney,

This was also new information for me - I read somewhere that the pen settings use only RGB-colors on GCC driver... I've also had some troubles with my pen settings, so I guess this is the answer

I'm still unable to get this to work. I have done the following:

    1. Checked color code on hairline and in PEN settings. They are the same.
    2. Experimented with both RGB and CMYK modes
    3. Reinstalled drivers (Win XP)

    Any other suggestions?

Are you sure you've set vector mode (not raster) with the red hairline for cutting ??

The problem is "resolved". When setting same cut settings for ALL colors but black in the drivers pen settings made the machine cut on red.
