Photoshop plugin?

I've heard people mention photoshop plugins instead of new software to properly raster photos for laser output, but I can't find any on a google search. Do you know the name of the plugin, or website for it? I have an EXLAS machine ordered and it should be here in a few weeks, and I'd really like to hit the ground running as far as software goes.

There are several options, paid and free. Search for 'Photoshop Dither Plugin' and you will find them.

If you are planning to do a lot of photo engraving I would suggest to purchase Photograv, it is much easier and saves wasted material.

The same results are possible with Photoshop but you have to spend more time on the setup and aren't making money.

Thank you zax, Photograv may be the best, but at almost $400 I'll have to see how much photo work I actually have to do, I just want to play around with photos at first, I don't know if I'll be doing enough to pay for the software.

No, I haven't. No need for it yet, I just had on in my "Someday I'm gonna need this" list.
