Epilog Zing C02 laser and comparable

Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a laser engraving and cutting machine. I recently took a look at the Epilog C02 system. Very nice machine. Will do everything I need for around $8k. Are there any other machines that are comparable in the area of system capabilites, support, warranty, that I should be looking at?

I'll be engraving, wood, several different polymers, and marking uncoated aluminum with the Cermark process. Would like to look at several before I pull the trigger on one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Rob

The ULS entry level machine VLS2.30 is about $6-8k depending on options, I think it's pretty close in capability (not sure about the table travel).

If you go with a US vendor of the Chinese systems (someone like Ray at Rabbit Laser - USA) you get personal service and support and potentially save thousands.

From reports I have read and examples of work I have seen pictures of I would also suggest that Ray Scott and Rabbit deserves really serious consideration.

I would give our vote to Dean from legacylasers.com
His support has been great and the machine he sold us has a 2 year warranty

Google Full Spectrum Laser 40w and find our webpage for USA designed controllers and software.

RetinaEngrave is print driver based like Epilog and Universal. You can compare our prices.

If you really want a Chinese software system, beware of the following:

The cheap chinese systems come with Moshisoft, NewlySeal or NewlyDraw.

The good chinese systems come LaserCut 5.3.

If you want LaserCut 5.3 on your laser, we will sell you the same machine for less money and still give you USA based support.

LaserCut 5.3 relies on plugins which need to be rewritten each new revision of software.

Try getting it to work on Autocad 2011 or CorelDraw X5.

Print driver systems work on practically all software, past, present and future.
