hi guys
I have a Rabbit 4OA
with newlydraw
when I import DFX files (made with inkscape)
the file seems ok when displayed in newlydraw, the lines are perfect
but when i engrave, the drawing is not well alined
the parallel lines, are no more parallel...etc
the drawing is scrambled
however when I test an engravin by creating a file directly in newlydraw (texte or squares...etc) or when I engrave a BMP or a JPG, all seems ok
does any one know why the DFX lines are corrupted when engraved (but well displayed in the newlydraw screen)
many thanks
any help is wellcommed

Since you can output vector and raster ok the problem must be the dxf file.
The points are probably not close enough to 'join' correctly or there is some other fault with the dxf. In Newlydraw these errors may only show up when you view using a fill mode, which requires 'scan' mode.
You can send me an example dxf if you like (zax15uk at mail.com) and I can help determine the corrective actions.
Zax.
I will take a look.

Your dxf files look ok to me, but I will reply to your email with the versions I used so you can test them.
If they still produce incorrect output perhaps you could take a photo and post so I can compare.

I've had some similar problems, but those was solved with saving the works to .ai and/or .plt-format. But my software is LaserCut, so I don't know if it's possible to import those formats to Newlydraw...!?
Anyway, I hope you can get your problem fixed !
Regards, Hannu
In my experience Newlydraw works great with dxf files.
I think there may be something else wrong here.

Hi again
I tried your files
had the same problem
one wen correct (not perfect) but when I rescaled It (smaller) all went wrong
here are two pictures (one of my engraving, the other of the file opened in Inkscape, I've sent you by email)
I thought it was because I resized the file in newlydraw, so I resized it instead in Inkscape
but had the same problem
one more thing
I have this problem only in "cut" mode
all is correct in scan mode
I'm completely disapointed

WAW
just after posting my previous message
I thought about some thing
I restaured my windows XP to a previous date (one month earlier)
because by this time I havent such problems
when the restauration finished, I tried once again my files
and MIRACLE!! all went OK
so:
make sure you have a restauration point when your soft&machine work correctly
because windows is a **** OS sometimes
even if my laptop I use for engraving is only used to "engrave" (I do my creations on another one) and even if I have installed nothing else but newlydraw and windows XP, some times things go wrong.....
many thanks for all
to the Admins, perhaps others have the same problem
please have them know about my findings
