Hello I have been building a cnc machine and i bought 3 stepper motors and a driver but they never worked. so I have been trying to find a stepper driver and motors that will work with each other. I don't need super strong stepper motors all i need is a nema 17 stepper motor that can hold around 36oz of torque cause my cnc machine is small. And my budget is around $100 cause im only 14. any help would be nice I think i put this thread in the wrong spot

| Hi I think you ought to do a little more work with what you have before discarding and replacing.. There are ways of checking out a stepper with only a few items... What I would do if I was as strapped for cash as you are(and I am close as I am on the other end of the scale and am retired on fixed income) is buy a single axis driver. Then use it to get your power supply and motors working on a single axis. A driver like PM in Mo sells. And I would stay with single axis drives as you can replace on at a time if you blow one. That said your motors are pretty small. But I suspect you have some wiring mistake as I doubt that all 3 motors and driver outputs went bad.. Good Luck.. Garry |

| Hi Pure. It looks like you have done some fine work so far. Have you checked your parallel cable to make sure all connections are straight through? Use an ohmmeter to read each pin end to end. CR.
