Hi everyone, I have a tree mill that isn't working, and we traced the problem to the 220->110 volt transformer. this transformer powers a solenoid attached to the start button, which when that button is pressed, powers the solenoid, pulling four contacts up to turn the system on. The transformer started smoking at one point and now puts out no voltage, so it needs to be replaced. earlier the starter button box had started smoking, so the starter solenoid might also be blown. The smoke could have also been from the wires, because they overheated when the transformer shorted before blowing out, so the solenoid could still be okay. The starter solenoid runs on 110 volts. does anyone know where I could find replacement parts for either of these, the transformer most importantly? |

| Any electrical supplier should have 220/110 transformers in stock, transformers are pretty rugged devices, if it burned out, I would check for correct fusing. It sounds like the contactor coil may have caused it, you may want to check this before replacing the transformer. If the secondary wiring overheated then the problem is definitely on the secondary side. Al.
