Controller for SEM MTS30H4-44

I just bought a Bridgeport that was equipped with a 3 axis Acu-Rite Millpwr minus the best part; the controller.

So I need a drive and I am looking for a recommendation on a match to best work with the SEM MTS30H4-44. I'll be using Mach 3.

I like the Gecko because of modularity and good support for the little guy, but it is only 80v maximum. What effect will that have on a motor capable of handling 140V?

Also looking for a power supply.

Other recommendations?

Specifications

Voltage gradient no load - 44
Maximum terminal voltage - 140V
Maximum speed - 3100
Continuous stall torque - 19 lb-in
Armature inductance - 12mh
Continuous stall current - 4.4

Thanks.

I've had good luck with Servo Dynamics 1525BR's. I've actually used them at 167 V on the H44's
Pretty snappy. Now I've backed off to 90 V and things are a bit more pedestrian. There are good solid drives and Servo Dynamics is a great company.
Good luck.

Dave

Throw a couple of Viper 200 drives in it and you can run Mach3 no problem.
They can handle those motors very well.

GSAPP,

Thanks, but Acu-rite is beyond my economic status.

Larry,

Looks good. Can you brag on why Viper is better than Granite? I'm brand new to this stuff so I'm all ears.

Anybody from Granite care to respond in kind?

Thanks,

No, i won't,
but all i will say is there has been hundreds of successful Big mill and lathe retrofits done with the Viper 200's.

I also have a bigger drive , the Viper 250 with 600volt 98 amp IGBT's in it
