help with power supply

i am a nubie in the cnc world and need a bit of help in choosing the power supply for my system . The drivers im looking at are 2 phase 3amp drivers im thinking of adding them on to my seig X2 so ill be running 3. do i need a power supply that is rated amps X the number of drivers or would 3 amps be enough????? p.s the working voltage is 24volts as well that i know has to stay the same , just a bit lost in the amprage.. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you .

lol ok so i found a dual power supply 24v at 3amps and 5v at 8amps . i am wondering , since i dont know anything about electricity will the 8 amps on the 5v side for the breakout board be to much or will the system only use whats needed???? really dont want to have to buy a new breakout board.. anyone have this problem?

You can always have extra Amp capacity and it won't hurt anything. The BOB will just draw what it needs--But you wouldn't want to have a PSU rated for LESS Amps than the BOB needed.

BTW: There is no better driver for X2 than the G540. This is what I recommend:

$060 One KL-350-48 48V/7.3A power supply.
$010 Estop switch
$007 3 Home switches
