Expresscard to Parallel?

As with almost all newer laptops, my Dell E1505 doesn't have a parallel port. I've been reading and now know that a usb to parallel adaptor won't work. Some have said PC cards will. I have an 34mm expresscard slot, and have found cards like:

Is an expresscard just like a PC card?

I have no idea if a card like that will work. Are you using mach3? If so, have you looked at a smooth stepper?

Yeah I checked out the smooth steppers previously but they're out of stock and I wanted to get this machine going within two weeks. I'm using mach2, but either way I just bought a cheap desktop with a real parallel port to dedicate to it, so I guess the expresscard mystery will remain!
