Need help writing a ladder for my PLC

I need help writing a ladder for my PLC to control a tool changer here is a link to the tool changer manual with all the timing and functions etc

http://www.thompsonmachine.net/duplomatic.zip

And here are links to a print out of the Ladder I am currently using which I dont think is quite right . I know I need to incorporate the thermal switch which I am unsure how to do and I would like the motor to shut down after 2 or 3 seconds at the end if it doesnt get the signal that braking is complete so I dont damage it.

If someone familiar with PLC programing could help me out or direct me to some one or some website, company etc that can help me that would be great I need to get this machine back on line ASAP . Moog is out of the lathe business and the turret manufacture cant/wont offer any support . Thanks for any help or advice. Rich

I know some ladder, but don't follow what your problem is yet. You will need to define the thermal switch as an input (an X#) or know which one it is by the position in the controller. Then you can use it in the ladder instructions. I am not clear on the specifics of the timeout option you are requesting, but it can be done with a "Timer Timing" instruction that will break after a defined 2 or 3 second period.

It is very difficult to program a particular application remotely, especially where critical timing is involved and it cannot be debugged by hands on feedback.

Understandable , the pdf file list the timing/sequencing etc and I think I am pretty close with the ladder I have posted but its just a little over my head . I cant seem to find any one local thats even heard of a plc , much less has any ability to program . Lathe has been down for almost 2 months and I am just not sure how to proceed.

The fellow at Visimetrics , the MHP service company, has been very nice when I have called but keeps promising he will call on Friday with help, just not sure which month .

I dont neccesarily need someone on sight to fine tune the programming , all the timing and sequence routines are spelled out in the pdf file, I can fine tune and adjust the times once I get a ladder that closely follows the sequence spelled out in the turret manual. I know PLC are commonly used in all sorts of applications outside of the machine tool world, where might I need to look to find someone familiar with ladder programming? I have no problem paying to get this thing written , I just dont know where to find the right person for the job .

If you live in a large city, Electrical wholesalers often represent the PLC manufactures and either have some one on staff or can refer you to a PLC integrator.
If I get chance this week end I will look the files over and see if I can spot anything.
BTW, what PLC is it written on again? or is this a Fanuc PMC?

I know ladder logic and I think I can help you. I've sent you a private messege with contact details.

The entire problem is simply a sequence of events which can be traced from the timing diagram. Writing the ladder logic is straight forward.

Do you still need help?

Sorry, I just caught this thread. Are you using a touchscreen or other OIT device to deal with the B4000.xx and B2000.xx bit of word logiic? I'm coming under the influence of my sleep aiding pill and I don't care to go to farther without knowing your real intent with those B2000 and B4000 bits. But this should be straight forward enough. Though it will be tommorrow afternoon before I can look again. Shame I didn't spot it while I was unoccupied at work today.
