Controller Schematic... First Attempt

I'm at the point in my build (http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65393) where the mechanical side of the construction is almost complete and now the electronic side begins. I'm totally lacking in the skills or language of electronics but I have scoured these forums in an attempt to educate myself and move my project along.

Would one of the electronic gurus here please look over my first attempt at a wiring schematic using HobbyCNC 23-305-DS8A steppers, AnTek power supply, Gecko 251's and a CNC4PC C10 break out board.

I would very much appreciate any comments or suggestions to make this assemblage of components a success.

It looks workable to me. I did not check the motor wiring. You might consider a fuse or circuit breaker on the 50V DC power supply output to reduce drama/destruction in case of a slip with a screwdriver or a stray piece of swarf.

Good Luck,

I notice "daisy chaining" of the output of the power supply to your first junction block. I understand you should run separate wires directly from the power supply to the appropriate point on the block.
Also, Mariss has repeatedly indicated that DC power switching is not a good practice and that includes fuses in this area. Put a fuse on the AC side and let it go at that.

Thanks for the suggestions... it's also been pointed out that the stepper wiring has the coils shorted. I'll need to investigate and modify.

Due to a major oversight on my part it's been pointed out that the Gecko G251 drivers will not operate in a unipolar configuration which is how I have the schematic drawn. The HobbyCNC 23-305-DS8A steppers are 425oz/in 4.2A when wired in bipolar parallel so they would exceed the amp rating of the G251's which are 3.5A max. So... I'm told I will need to employ current limiting resistors of 3.48K to keep the Gecko's happy and that I will suffer a slight loss of torque.

Here's the revised schematic showing the bipolar parallel config...
