Keling Power supply

I purchased a Keling power supply model KL-5413 http://www.kelinginc.net/SwitchingPowerSupply.html
located on this page at bottom. The supply came with a transformer and rectifier module. The transformer has 2 red and 2 black wires on one side and 2 green and 2 blue wires on the other side. I have had no luck in figuring out how it is to be wired. If anyone has a diagram or can just tell me what wires go where it would be much appreciated. I understand that power supplys are dangerous and will not power up until im safely away from the unit. Note the supply did not come prewired from keling and no diagrams came with the unit. The website only shows what the red and black wires are for and does not mention the green or blue wires. The website does not discuss grounding in any way so grounding advice is also needed. Thank you.

Red and Black wires are a.c. input

Green and Blue wires are 54 volt a.c. output.

Connect the green and blue wires to the a.c. connections on the bridge rectifier.

See attached image for details.

A filter capacitor is also required.

No grounding to the transformer.

Depending on if you are feeding it 115 or 230vac, you'll need this info to get your red and black wires right.

I dont know what a filter capacitor is or what size capacitor I would need. Also how would the capacitor be wired and i'm still not exactly sure what to do with the green and blue wires. I know what to do with the red and black wires. The ac input on the rectifier module has 3 terminals labeled 1,2 & 3. As a side note on the dc output side to the motor power on my drive my drive has a input for V+ and ground and the output of the rectifier shows +, C, & -. And if anyone can tell me what size capacitor I need to limit what my motors can draw to 3amps. Each drive has its own V+, and ground and Id like to limit them To 3 amps draw each. Or do you limit the motor draw at the motor.

Question

Please post a picture of the rectifier module and a make / model.

Buy me a Beer?

If the rectifier has three AC input terminals it will be a 3 phase bridge.
You can still use it on 1 phase using just two terminals.

This is a drawing of the rectifier module. I hope it is clear.

Judleroy,

Connect the green wires to pin 1 of the A.C. input connector

Connect the blue wires to pin 3 of the A.C. input connector

I hooked the transformer up according to how jalessi has indicated. Thanks by the way I appreciate all the help. Can anyone tell me how to test the dc current coming out. Also any help on the other questions in my second post would be very helpful. Thanks.

Question

judleroy,

What type of drives are you using?

It is a k motion 8 axis control board. The board has 4 165watt power amps. This is the link to the board specs.
http://www.dynomotion.com/ I am also using the breakout board for the k motion called a k break. The board can run steppers, brushed servos, and brushless motors. Does the type of motor i'm running effect how I power the drive. It says I can have up to 55 volts and 3 amps per axis. Thank you.

Judleroy,

The Kmotion board has built in current limiting to protect itself.

I have no idea how it limits the current to each motor however it may be software controlled.

You should call the K motion company and ask them how to set the current for each drive.

In a nutshell "simplified" the motor requirements are based on the weight of the axis and feed speed.

The power supply requirement will be determined by a percentage of the combined motor current draw.
