Anyone had trouble with ER11 collets on the Chinese spindles supplied on EBAY. I bought the 1.5kw spindle and drive. It's advertised as ER11 and comes with one 6mm collet. This is fine untill........ I purchased a full set of ER11 collets only to find that they will not loctae into the collet nut of the spindle motor. Closer inspection reveals that the spindle motor nut is stamped ER11B Anyone know of this issue. Thanks George |

the B style takes a slightly shorter collet which it probably the issue. i noticed in my travels looking for iso25 chucks that the b type is very common in asia. you MAY be able to simply buy a new "standard" nut from a place like maritool. http://www.takayama-shoji.co.jp/rego...nformation.pdf anyhow, very good to know the spindle comes with a B type nut as im thinking of buying one. |

| George, i believe that i have the same problem. On our freshly arrived CNC router from china we have a 1.5KW Spindle. Ordered a set of Metric and Imperial ER11 collets only to find they will not fit the nut. Thanks to Rowbare who put a link to this thread we now have the answer, and have ordered a new pair of Collet nuts which should solve the problem. From what i have seen in the DIY Router part of the forum, you can order the Spindles with an ER20 Collet nut - but you must advise the seller of this requirement upon ordering a Spindle. If we knew this before placing our order for the machine - i would have specified the ER20 Collets. Below is a photo showing the 2 different collets. The one on the Left is the Chinese supplied ER11B, The one on the right is a standard ER11 Collet. ![]() Rocket. |

| I was having similar issues, my search for answers brought me by this post. After another hour or so of searching I thought I'd post what I found out. The 3 different ER11 styles have a very different nut as can be found on this site, by identifying the nut you can identify which style you have. The ER11A in my case is worn off, but by identifying the nut I was able to order the proper collets. |

er collets come in many sizes i like er16 as it goes up to 3/8" as for China parts often they have similar styles but metric versions for example a NMTB tool holder with same taper but internal metric threads for the draw bar . er collet nuts seem to be easily lost and the replacements are often very expensive. often a straight shank end mill holder for er collets can be bought with the nut cheaper than finding a replacement nut alone many times , but er11b is a new one to me |
