Friends, Will I need regulated 5V supply when wiring up my gecko g210's and my break out board and does an ATX power supply have a regulated 5V output? I have a 200watt power supply that was in an old PC of mine. Will that work for my 5V needs? Thanks All, Allen |

| Yes, you can use the 5v from an atx power supply, I am using my 12v line for some stuff on my cnc, the 5v line is the red wire on the plugs. If you are not using a computer hooked up to it, to turn it on you connect the green wire to a black wire and flip the switch on back. Jon |

| Here is mine using temporary 12v PSU With the Hobby CNC 3 Axis board, not the best but to get going and testing its ok. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=24 also have a fan blowing at 12v directly on controllor board. |

| I used this idea to make my psu to work with my cnc board. I think the reason for the resistors is to cuase the power supply to not switch. Anyways i used 10 watt resistors and it seems to be working fine. I use the 12 volt out to run everything on my board and it works fine. Check the attachment.
