Amp needed for 24V power supply for my CNC?

For my Dahlgren CNC Router, I am thinking about using a SOLA 24V power supply which is commonly used in industrial PLC.

Below is the picture of the stepper motor which is rated at 3.4 VDC / 2.9A.

If I use a 24V power supply, what Amp rating will be required?

I would love to get gecko drive, but right now I am unemloyed and its too expensive for me right now.

Most likely I will get this controller.
