Hello all, Sometime ago I decided to build a CNC machine and after some investigations I thought that I should start by building the power supply. I then searched in the web and found this PS (0-30 VDC STABILIZED POWER SUPPLY WITH CURRENT CONTROL 0.002-3 A) http://www.electronics-lab.com/proje...003/index.html At that time I bougth all the parts and all my problems started because that PS has gone through many modifications, versions, etc and that thread has become huge (200+ posts). I've spent so much time and $$ on that PS that I got demotivated. My question for you is because I read somewhere that the most suitable PS for a CNC project is a basic unregulated linear Power Supply. Should I continue building that power supply or is there any other option easier for my final goal (CNC machine)? The steppers I got are SanyoDenki 5.1V 1A. I'd appreciate your help. |

| If the transformer has a suitable output and VA rating, then you may be able to salvage it some and simply add a bridge and capacitors and you have a very rugged linear supply. Build it the right size and you do not usually need regulated for Servo/stepper operation. Al.

| All you need is a simple supply, transformer, rectifier, filter capacitors...along these lines:http://pminmo.com/simple-power-supply

| That will give you ~33vdc after the bridge. Al.
