I'm in the process of building a ~80VDC power supply to drive a bank of G320's. You guys have tought me about the transformer and the caps (thanks!), now the rectifier. What happens if I use one with 1000V rating and twice the current I'll be using? Does the rectifier voltage rating need to be close to what you will be runnin it at? Thanks guys. This site rocks. |

| No, it just means that you have a bit of overkill. It doesn't cost much more to over-design in the rectifier stage anyway. Al.
