Need Help!- How High can a motor be driven with VFD?

I am hooking up a VFD to an old Yaskawa servomotor to see if I will be able to use it as a spindle motor. The drive I am using is able to drive up to 1500Hz. My question is: How high is frequency can I go and still get power, And How will I know if I am too high? Will the motor stall like a stepper or anything? I know that most motors can be driven to 120 Hz.

I have not had very good success with P.M. motors on a VFD.
The rpm depends on the top speed rating of the motor.
For example a 4 pole motor at 1500hz would be 7500 rpm.
Most brushless servo type motors are 6 ~ 8 pole.
The 120hz rating is usually considered max for a standard 4 pole induction motor.
You would be better off to get a Servo drive for it, what is the motor type?
BLDC or AC sinusoidal?

The motor is a Yaskawa USAMED-20 2.0kW 18.8A 1000RPM. It is an AC 3 phase servo, so im pritty sure its sinusoidal.
