Can anyone tell me how to identify a plc controller from a cnc conteller? I have a controller of some kind and don't know how to tell the difference. It has ports on it that look like computer (printer) ports labeled AXIS 1, AXIS 2, AXIS 3, and two parralel i/o ports. If anyone can help that would be great. |

| Well PLC's as well as CNC can have servo controllers, exept that PLC's do not usually have interpolated motion. Is that the one you were enquiring about in an earlier post? If you cannot find anything about the manuf. or details on the control, probabally the only way is to look at the guts identify what you can and see if you can get something moving and experiment from there. And maybe find out if you can wether it is software driven (e.g.PC based) or has a hardware motion control card of some sort. Al
