I recently found that an amplifier I have stopped working (audio amp) and since there is no warranty left I pulled it apart to have a look. There are a few items that are blown and since transistors and resistors are cheap I figured I would replace them and see if it works again. Can't hurt right. Long story short, I can't seem to identify who makes this component or exactly what it is and what I need to replace it. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott //edit// It should have 3 legs, not one, the other 2 broke off when the amp blew //edit// |

| It looks like a back to back half bridge diode pair. 2SC2505 comes up as a transistor, you may have to google combinations of the part no. There is a also a similar device that Teccor call a 'Sidactor' this is a bi directional surge suppressor. Al.

| Is the heatsink the diode centre connection? If so DigiKey UHB20FCT-E3/4WGI. If the tab is isolated, then it won't matter. Al.

| Yes the heatsink is the centre connection. The part you referenced looks like it will do just nicely. I am ordering a bunch of parts for the psu of my cnc mill project and will be ordering the parts I need to repair the amp at the same time. Thanks for all the help. |
