Yes.
But If they are run in half wind mode They will run faster with the torque on the top end.

Buy me a Beer?

Woodknack, the Powermax motors are rated for MAX voltage. I believe his motor is 2.57V (current/phase * resistance/phase).

DESERT RAT is on a distinguished road

The motor I have will not work with this board. (for my purpose)

I am building a Gantry style router table with a 4th axis. This axis will allow me to turn spindles, in order to put spirals ect. on them. I also would like to try some metal milling, so i intend to make it pretty ridgid and heavy duty.

First, however, I am going to make a cheap small one to use in makeing parts for the final one.

The motors I saw at the wed site you sugested were ( I think) 4.7volts, 2 amps, .9 degree steps, and 187 oz/in. Do these sound good with the Xylotex controler.

Almost forgot. I would like to get around 60 ipm. I intend to use ball screws with a .2 lead.

thank you

I just got these motor and have not tried them with my xylotex board yet. Maybe the beginning part of the week I will see what I can get out of them.
I have talked to a couple people on the net that have these motors and the xylotex board. They have these setup on a Taig cnc milling machine, which is what I am going to do to. one guy told me he is getting 35 IPM. I think that dam good. I even have a avi file a guy sent me of his in action. Very impressive. I am documenting the setup of mine as I get the parts. Waiting for my mill to show up now.

.2 lead as in 5 turns per inch? if so, you could probably get that with those 187 oz steppers and the xylotex.

What diameter ball screw?

Maybe I am just not as patient as I used to be. I came up with a goal of 60 ipm by determineing the max. rpm I could turn my screw before I got vibration. It was about 1000 rpm. I figured 900 would be my max.

I could turn the screw even faster now because those figures were based on a screw with 50 inches of unsupported length. I am now building shorter.

Balsaman. Yes 5 turns per inch with a 5/8 inch ballscrew.

I am sorry. You think I can get what? The speed or the power.

That combo should get you close to 60" per minute.
