I have a 60 amp china plasma cutter and accidentally broke a small capacitor inside it. I was changing the cooling fan. It is a .01 uF radial ceramic disc 2kv capacitor. It goes in between the steel frame of the machine and the big aluminum heatsink which is otherwise insulated from the frame. Is this just for radio interference suppression or is it required for machine function and reliability? I can mail order one but I want to use the machine tomorrow and wonder if I can just use a plain grd wire for a few days until the parts get here. Thanks , Dave  |
