What controller do i need to get to run these? http://www.crazyhobby.com/images/pdf/3036.pdf http://www.copleycontrols.com/Motion/pdf/503.pdf The Copley is just an amplifier and it has no way to read the encoder. but i cant seem to find a Motion controller that can handle a DC brush type servo. That or is it possible to use a Gecko to just read the encoder and controll the Amp? More expensive than i wanted to go... I was hoping for something like this. http://www.uhu-servo.de/servo_en/index.htm but again the guy says they are only for brush type DC motors. |

| The motor you show is a DCBL and the Copley DCBL amplifier can also run DC brushed motors as well, as can most BLDC drives that allow setting to 60deg commutaion. These Drives however are intended for the loop to be closed in the CNC Control. If you want step/direction, I believe Granite Devices drives will work with BLDC. Al.

Well i come here because you guys are awesome and knowledgeable. But this isnt going to be used for CNC. im going to be using a Atmel 168 to control it for a pan tilt mount. ill check out the Granite device. |

| The Granite Devices VSD-E will run that motor just fine. You could also try something like this: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74532 if you are feeling more adventurous. If you already have the amplifier, the YAPSC 10V will read your encoder ans step/dir signals and output an analog boltage to run the amplifier. This would be cheaper than the VSD-E but will require more time/hassle to get everything put together. Matt |

I was going to get a Pixie until i realized KTP wasnt selling them any more ;/ Apparently someone else on here has already gotten a Copley 503 to work with a Pixie. |
