| Yes it is ...BUT... Make sure You include a current limiting resistor in series with the higher current motor. what value You ask? That depends on the voltage You are driving the motor with and the voltage at which the motor draws the 3.5 Amps. The oucome is that the torque will be reduced but You will get usable motion ( as in dynamics not what happens after a big meal) from the motor.  |

| Do you mean a stepper motor ? If so then the driver board will only output its set current. You don't need a limiting resistor.
