Help--- I am sinking fast. I am trying to get this NPN-PNP stuff through my thick skull, but it is not going anywhere! I am afraid that I am about to let the magic smoke out. I am trying to wire my CNC4PC c23 BOB. I already have the step and direction figured out ( with lots of help) Now it is time for the limit switchs and the home switches. For the Limit switches I am using 24 VDC Omron switches. These switches can be wired either N.O. or N.C. I am wiring them N.C. that way if a wire or switch fails it should e-stop the machine. I have the switches wired in series to the N.C. contacts using 24 vdc. When the switches are NOT made then the coil to a relay is energized and the relay is closed. I then have 5 volts dc going through the relay contacts. This then powers the #2 pin on the BOB. Does this seam correct or is there a better way? Now for the hard part. The home position sensor. This is a 24 vdc proximity sensor. This is how I have it set up for testing. 24 VDC +++ and 24 VDC--- to power the sensor. then I have a 24 volt light bulb that is wired to 24 VDC+++ power source and then the 24VDC --- is connected to the OUT of the proximity switch. When the proximity switch is made then the light turns on. Easy enough. When I talked to Arturo at CNC4PC he said that all I need to do is add a 4.7 ohm resistor and it will work with the C23 BOB My problem is that the BOB pins are Negative and the output from the proximity switch is Negative. So I have to just start connecting wires to the BOB unless I am 100% sure it is correct. Any ideas or do you need more information. Thanks Steve |
