need a power supply

Does anyone know of a person/company (perfeably in ontario canada) that can build custom power supplies?
I need a power supply 48-50vdc output max. 36 amps, 2000uf/amp and a center tap dc 15-36v
this will drive my 3 servo motors for the cnc I'm building.

thanks

You’re talking about 1750 watts DC output. More then likely the power supply will draw a minimum of 2000 watts or 17 amps@120 volts AC... Do you really need all that amperage????

I know that most telecom equipment/sites are powered with 24 or 48 volt battery systems.. You may try to look for surplus power supplies at Ham radio fairs (if your area has them)

Most of the new systems are not linear but stepping type for current.. Lorain is a very good system.. I have a 48 volt 35 amp Lorain PS that I got from work.. I know that its what your asking for but I feel that it may be too big for most people…. I use it for plating so I need the current. Anyway if you could find a older Lorain system I think you would be happy. As for you center tap I have NO idea.

Luck tho and please let me know if you find it

Try contacting jfirey. Search here for user jfirey. He also sell on ebay but can remember the user name. He custom built a trioid (sp) 60V 40A for me. Have not been able to use it under load but everything checked out after building power supply

question :
my motors are rated for40vdc min. and 12 amps max continious current, but need 20 amp to demagnetize. Should I base the power supply output on the 12 amp or the 20 amp, I am thinking the 20 amp is only momentary inrush?
the reason i need to know this, i can build one power supply with 50vdc & 36 amps available which would mean i don't need to worry about the 20 amp, but if I build three smaller supplies for each axis i can only get an off the shelf transformer that will deliver 50vdc and 14 amps, is that enough? do I need to worry about the 20 amp demag if I go this route?
thanks

I would pick 40 to 50 VDC at a Maximum of 15 amps per axis and would current limint at something under 15 amps per axis.
