Hi, I recently started a retrofit on a old takisawa lathe with a fanuc 2000C CNTRL. I purchased a galil dm18x2 motion card with ICM 2900(OPTO) connection module. I would just like to ask a question about the most practical method of wiring up the home and limit switches. The installation manual says to connect the positive of an isolated PSU to LSCOM and connect the negative lead of the PSU to blocks 9 to 12 of the ICM which are the limit inputs.I gather they mean the negative of the PSU is conneted via the limits themselves. What if I wanted to use the computer 5V for the limits how would I connect it then? I must say I want to be 100% sure I connect it corretly as the card was quite pricey, and the voltage levels on the card are all TTL. Please can someone who has had experience on this aspect help |

| The LSCOM & INCOM can be connected to the 5v supply, there may be a jumper in the ICM-2900 as there is in the ICM-1900 to accomplish this, if not, it can be jumpered externally. The switches would then sink to a Common terminal. I just checked the ICM-2900 schematic and it shows JP1 for connecting to vcc 5v. Al.
