Not sure where to post this anymore. Thought there was a VFD/Electrical forum????? Anyway, please move if needed. Looking for info on single phase buck/boost transformers. curious if 12/24 and 16/32 transformers can only buck and boost at one percentage in an auto transformer configuration? thought I remembered them capable of other configurations??? ie, 12/24 = 10% and 16/32 = 15%, etc. Also looking for some basic equations to figure the kva. we determined we only need a 1.5kva transformer to buck 10% on a 15kva. load. Obviously the more you buck, the less kva the transformer will handle. We want to buy a 12/24 but may need to go more than 10% to make a control happy. hate to have to get another if it is nor enough. |

| Virtually any transformer can be used in a buck/boost manner. The same current is carried by the B/B transf. as the main transformer, so the VA calculation is the same. Secondary current x secondary voltage. Al.
