It was recommended that i use a 150v 10000 Mf electrolytic capacitor for my servo motor power supply, but don't have one on hand. I have a few 150v 5000 Mf kicking around, and would like to know if connecting 2 X 5000 in parallel is the same as having 1 X 10000. Thanks, Dan |

| To a point, the increase in capacitance can cause the VA rating of the transformer to be exceeded when maximum current is drawn. Usually for a drive power supply, a design for 5% ripple is more than adequate. For the calculation, the maximum current draw and Peak voltage would have to be known. Al.
