| Tony, If the stepper driver is Bipolar any Bipolar or Unipolar motor will work as long as the driver current output is adjusted to match the motors current requirement (amp draw). If the driver is Unipolar then only Unipolar motors will work as long as the driver current output is adjusted to match the motors current requirement (amp draw). If the driver is 5 phase then only 5 phase motors will work as long as the driver current output is adjusted to match the motors current requirement (amp draw). The current applied to the motor will determinate its torque. The voltage is not so critical, it corresponds to the motors peak r.p.m.. The term Nema 23 or Nema 34 is a specification for the physical frame size dimensions of the motor not its current or voltage requirements. Jeff... |
