Real easy question, which I don't believe anyone has posted... yet that I've come across. When you have the spec's on a stepper, and It' rated for X.XV & X.XA per phase, does this translate to (for ex: ) If the ratings are 2V & 2A on the motor, then it requires 2VDC but 4A to run the motor for the rated output. So my motors are 1.7V & 4.7A, so my thinking is : 9.2A for each motor will be the minimum that I'll need, ..... or would I cut that spec in half? So it's 2.35A per phase which then brings it to 4.7A total ? -Art |

| I would not be able to explain it half as good as this guy: http://www.cs.uiowa.edu/~jones/step/ If doing anything with steppers beyond hooking up a system by a manufacturer's user manual, that is the place to start. |
