| Hi I'm building a router with about 1000x900 mm working space. I will control the router with the Rutex R990H controller setup and will also use aruond 600 oz servomotors. I'm about to order the Rutex stuff and wonder if I realy need the Rutex limitswitch cards and if so, how many (one per axis?). I will run the servomotors on about 35-40 Volts. Can I set up the limitswitches without the Rutex cards or do I need them or is it advicable to run the router without limitswitches and only make sure to not use input that make sthe machine to wanne move outside the workingspace? Any bright solutions? Best regards / Anders Molin |

| Sorry, I know nothing about Rutex as I have Geckos so I can't address those particulars... but YES you want limit switches, especially with your reasonably powerful servos. It only takes one run-away to ruin the table. Damaging motion can happen due to equipment failures that are not operator error... Plus you will be less stressed moving things about if you know that the worse case scenario is an activated limit rather than a stripped thread or bent gantry. |
