Hello. Sorry if this question would mock your intelligence. I am really a novice in electronics. ![]() I am building a 3-axis CNC engraver and just recently bought a 1.5A PWM stepper motor drivers. I will be using 1.5A power supply for each stepper motor. Could I drive a 3.0A stepper motor with my 1.5A driver without any risk of damaging the driver? |

| Hi, yes you can safely drive your 3A stepper from your 1.5A driver. But of course only at 1.5A. As you are running at half the rated current you will experience significantly reduced torque from your motors, and dependent upon the load it might be that they do not have enough torque from the 1.5 amps to turn the axle. -bjorn
