I've aquired 3 stepper motors that I had hoped to used for my CNC Project but am unsure exactly what I have as far as holding power (oz / in).Motors are Step syn Stepping motor Type 103G770-0183 DC 5.1V 1 Amp 1.8Deg / Step Lot No.03808 6 wire can anyone help? Thanks

Since I haven't gotten any replies to the post above, let me rephrase the question. Is there any type of formula based on the info given above that will allow me to calculate the holding torque of the motor. If not, how can I figure this out? Also, are these a bipolar or unipor motor or does it not matter? Thank you

| Hack - here's a pointer you might check if you haven't already: http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread...=wire+unipolar bottomline 6 wires - unipolar, but you can tie centertaps together to make it act like a bipolar - if I understand right - Happy Searching! cheers - Jim
