I have HP Draftmaster II pen plotter that look like I will have to retire because of room and lack of use. The trouble is it is almost hard to even give these away. The thing cost over $7,000.00 new (not to me) and weighs 160lb. Before I ditch it though I wondered if anyone has used the Steppers and driver boards that must be in this unit. Although I am generally averse to using steppers, it seems a shame to toss them when a small CNC X,Y,Z, engraver might be possible. Anyone gone this route with an HP? Al

| Al - I'm surprised at no takers on those motors (yet). I'd be interested but only have 2 weeks left here before I hit the road - else I'd take 'em! Also there must be some good rods in there for linear ways and maybe the plotter carrige to build from. Leastwise thats been my experience on printers and scanners - I'm gonna try plotters and copiers next. Just a dumpster diver at heart! Cheers - Jim
