please help- cnc spindlefrequency output

Hi all,
I have a multicam 3000 cnc machine. when the spindle is spinning, it puts a frequency off into the air. i first noticed it because it completely disrupts am radio in both the building and any car within a 1/4 mile radius. i have grounded the machine with an eight foot copper rod, checked all the electrical and grounding in the building, and tried to put ferrite core leads on the wiring of the machine, none of which has worked. i need to solve this problem because when i run my cnc machine it disrupts the business next doors instrumentation. thank you for any help with this-
Robby

Robby,
normally the "drive" doesn't emit the EMF, the cables do..have you checked the cable to make sure they are shielded and grounded??? Are they also enclosed in a pipe or ductwork that is grounded? I would tend to believe that they are not!?!?! Check that stuff out and let me know.

Sean

thanks sean,
how would i go about shielding the wire? The wire now is just in the rubber coating it came in from the manufacturer. I had an electrician come out to check the grounding to the machine and all looked good. same with building. I grounded the cnc where the power comes into the machine to an eight foot copper rod i pounded through my cement foundation. thanks for the help

I have a euro on one of my older Multicams and my night shift guys listen to baseball games while running the machine, something sounds very wrong. Since your machine is that new, it's under warranty, I would call Multicam and ask them what's up, surely by now you have a list of things that need to be taken care of ( I have 3 Multicams..... so I know, lol). They can talk you thru stuff over the phone. That's where I would start. And they can't help you fix it, make them send you a tech while it's still under warranty. Sounds like you did your earth ground correctly. What part of the counrty are you in???

I'm in the midwest, I'm guessing our service here might be a step above the west coast. BTW....I talked to my night crew and they listen to the ball game on AM radio, the said as the spindle moves up the table and gets closer to them, they hear interference, but none of that 1/4 mile stuff. What rpm does this occur at??? You should know for the most part I am happy with my 3000 series, I assume you have single spindle with tool changer, based on the Euro spindle. Mine is a two spindle with perkes spindles, fits my application
well. Also have and older one with Euro spindle and tool changer, and old two spindle multicam dinosaur. I inherited them, not my favorite machines, but they have performed pretty well here. Run them 2 shifts. Do you have other cnc routers, or are you just getting started?
