We have a OMAG 95 CNC with NUM 720B control. We lost the picture on our display so had the monitor repaired, and now we do have the green background on the display. It's still not working, (there is no text displayed) so looks like there is a problem with the video signal from the NUM control. There is no separate video card it's all one board. It's use a monochrome display so we can't test it. (there is a 9 pin connector for the video signal) When we try to test the machine "blind" (from memory) the machine do respond. Is there anyone who can repair these type of NUM control boards ? Steven |

| Hi Steven I have a SCM Record 1 with Num720B of which the power supply card for the monitor and controller blew. I have contacted NUM, but they wont supply me with any information regarding the card, so i am looking into supplying the controller with a new power supply and hooking the 9pin (with some conversion) up to a normal 15pin monitor. Will let you know if any progress is made. Have unfortunately no idea concerning your problem if your controller is problematic. There is second hand parts available at CNC-Shopping UK website. If by any chance you have documentation on NUM720 controller power requirements it would be greatly appreciated. I know the voltage requirements are 15V+ and 15v-, but looking for how much amps it draws. Thanks |

| John Not a problem, it took us a while to sort the comms as the wiring on the RS232 was different, Mal We got our plugs from Maplin and the cable from RS All Seems Record / Num manuals are in demand, I have now had 4 requests for these, Makes sense to get them digitally copied and split the cost, please let me know who is serious re these as I am happy to get it done but do not want to waste my time |

Hi dpl You mention here that you had problems with the RS232 cable as the wiring was different. Did you make up a cable yourself or have it made? I'm also having problems and was advised by NUM that it could be the cable (they have sent me a wiring diagram). I can download from the NUM 720 but not upload to it. Did you experience a similar problem? Any help/advice appreciated Thanks Martyn |

| Martyn We made up cables, I have the diagrams, if you send me your email, I will send you them. Have you got the control characters at the start and end of the comms file ? as this is the most likely reason for failure to upload Steve |
