Anyone ever have problems getting a Porter Cable Variable Speed router to power on using a Solid State Relay? I'm having a problem getting the router to power on using the relay. Sometimes it works then after 1-2 times it won't power up anymore. Seems like it has something to do with the speed controller in the router not liking being turned on by the relay? I did wire a resistor across the relay (10K) the Crydom specs say the relay needs a min of 40ma to latch. Everything seems OK on the relay side. It seems like the problem is in the router. Anyone have this problem before? |

| OK, just tried loading the relay with a light bulb AND the router. Works fine that way. Guess I need more resistance/load on the relay? Whats the best way to get a 40ma load on the relay????? I don't want a bright light hooked to it all the time. |
