| New to cnc. Bought a cnc9000 and have spent much time in set-up. Most of the issues have been resolved as far as I know with my limited knowledge. The question that I have here is, Can the magnetic field produced by a 3 HP router interfere with the stepper motors and or the motor controllers? The problem seems to be on set-up everything looks good but when I turn on the router and try to engrave the z axis looses its position and goes deeper into the stock. In trying to get out of the situation I notice that when I press the up controller the axis goes down. It's like every command send the x axis down. I noticed that when I set-up and run the same code without the router it seems to do OK. I did see a question somewhere on the forum about a concern for the controllers mounted on the bridge in regards to dust, but I haven't made much of that yet. Any experience in this matter would be appreciated. Thanks Harold Stinnett |

| Did you wire up the controller and panel etc or was it supplied pre wired, You may have grounding/bonding issues. Al.

| The machine was prewired, I was just this minute thinking about that. I just ran some test and I can make that default at will and it is without doubt the porter cable router. Blows out the machine settings on the z axis, must be the stepper motor as everything else is ok. I'll do some more checking on the grounding issue. Thanks HK |

| well, I hard wired all the motors to ground and at first I though I had it. Could not make the crash happen. Ran a small engraving code, looks good. Ran it again, looks good, ran it a third time and it crashed at the end. Improvement, but still not there. HK |

| Try plugging the router into a different circuit.
