    4 Position Rotary Switch

I have a MIG welder that was equipped with a 4 position rotary switch. The switch was locked up so I decided to take it apart to see what the problem could be. In the disassembly phase the switch came apart suddenly and I didn't have the opportunity to see how it was put together. Is there anyone with a good working knowledge of 4 position rotary switches?

I know this isn't electronic but this is the closest forum I found.
I've posted on 2 welding forums but the interest seems to be in telling me where I went wrong.

    .
Unfortunately there is no standard for '4 Position Rotary Switches'. It can be an off the shelf configuration, which there are many options, or custom ordered by the equipment manuf.
An idea of what the function is for the switch or a schematic, is required, which I assume you do not have?
If it is a well know unit, you should be able to get the schematic.

I would think the schematic would give you the switching sequence. From that you should be able to put it back together.

I ordered a new switch from a supplier. Probably best anyway.
