I know a number of different software packages can configure parrallel port I/O pin assignments. Is there some default that has manifestested itself. i.e. Xstep is pin 3, Spindle control is pin 1, X limit is........... Phil |

| Not really any standard configuration. Some are very configurable like Mach2 others like Linux EMC is hardcoded for the step/dir signals. Keep this in mind if buying a breakout board, as some breakout boards are configurable and some aren't. For example, the Campbell Designs breakout board is hardwired and requires software that is configurable. It will work great with Mach2 but not Linux EMC and many others. The PMDX 120 breakout board is jumper selectable for MANY different software configurations. It will work well with Mach2, Linux EMC as well as most of the DOS based programs. Why do you ask? |
